Why Early Intervention?
The first three years of a child’s life are so important. Human learning and development are most rapid from birth to age 3. That’s why it’s important to give a child the best start possible. The earlier a child with a disability or a developmental delay is diagnosed and gets help, the better that child’s ultimate quality of life.

First Steps services may be needed for children for many different reasons, such as: a medical condition or diagnosis, a condition that has a high probability of developmental delay (such as sensory impairment, genetic disorders, severe toxic exposure), or delay in developmental milestones.
